COMPUTER ISSUES WORK AROUND PAGE
Use the tips below to solve all your computer problems. Issues arrive daily it seems, so, if you do not find what your problem is, make sure you show it to Pate so he can figure a new "fix". Otherwise, follow the directions and you should be back on track to getting your assignments done. Please note: The date beside the fix is when the problem was first noted and reported to tech support.
problem 1: no u: drive/No access to applications

The U: drive is kind of important. All your work is stored there so if you don't have one you can't access any of your work. Furthermore, it also indicates that important programs like CAD won't work. The good news is the Internet works! What would we do without the Internet?!?!? The bad news is you can't do your work.
You'll know you are toast when you see the dreaded black screen. No worries...do the following: 1. Find the thawed space folder and delete as many files as possible in it. (Look under "computer")If you haven't got a thawed space? Find a new computer. 2. After deleting the as many files in the thawed space folder as possible, logoff, login and see if it worked. (This takes a mere 5 to 10 minutes.) |
Problem: disappearing distribution folder

The Distribution folder is usually found when one navigates From Start to Computer. However, this pesky folder likes to disappear. No problem! all the files that are saved there are on this website!
Depending on what you are working on, you should be able to find the files by navigating to Engineering Courses to Lessons.
Choose the page that has the assignment you are on. Download file to your U: drive by right clicking the mouse on the file link and select Save Target as...
